My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys!

Digital Image "Lonesome Cowpoke" by Stamp-n-Doodle

I had fun with this challenge.  Well, I was a little late with my DT Card, so you won't see it at the challenge site.  But the fun part was using this new technique that I learned at Gina K's Stamp TV.  Wax Paper Embossing!!  That's what I said, too?  Huh, What?  Wax paper?  Okay!  But I tried it and it is really neat.  And if that was not enough, I remembered that I had purchase some "Western" Earrings years ago (The line dance craze at the time was "Achy Breaky Heart."  I was trying to prove to my co-workers that there was nothing wierd about a black person loving country music...I still do.  So, anyway, we were all headed off to Dallas for a Corporate retreat and except for the hair and chest...you couldn't tell me from Dolly Parton (LOL)  I digress.  But the earrings had these cute little charms, so I dug them out and attached a pair of the boots to my card.  Not only was this project fun, but it brought back so really cool memories.

I wanted one layer of embossing to look like leather.  I think I should have used darker distress inks, but I am really pleased with the design.  It is really easy.  Just crumple up some wax paper (I used Cut-rite), open it up and place it between two pieces of cardstock (cut to the size that you need for your panel) and then iron it.  When you remove the wax paper, you won't be able to see the design...but it is there.  Then you take your Distress Ink and use the direct method to apply it to the cardstock.  Apply both colors and the wipe away the excess with a paper towel.

Gina K describes it better.  Check out her tutorial.  I hope to see your card in the Challenge.  Thanks for stopping by!  Be well, Chana!

STAMP-N-DOODLE - OVALS OR CIRCLES

Digital Image by Lynn Crosskill

Hello, Cardies!  This week at Stamp-N-Doodle, we are challenging you to create a card using ovals or circles.  For the adventurous among us, you can use both circles and ovals.  I decided to stick with circles only.  I also liked the idea of using squares and circles to frame this wonderful image Lynn gave the team to work with this week.  I am the first to say, I am not a queen of Copics.  I am not even a serf, so I was a little intimidated by this image.  Finally, I just said to myself, "self, I know you can do this.  Just image what you think a wolf would look like if you encountered one in the wild"; (of course, I'd be running so fast in the opposite direction that I still wouldn't know what the thing looked like.)  But this is my idea.  I would love to see what you do with Ovals and Circles...I just know this will be an exciting and creative group of challenge submissions.  Thanks for Loooking!

Hi, Cardies!   Well, I have another shopping card for you!  This one is an image from Guylou's Inimitability.  Our Challenge Theme this week is : Create a Monochromatic Card.  I decided to use "Lotus" as my model.  I think she looks pretty chic all decked out in her blue and grey.  The papers are all from my stash.  I was going to paper piece her skirt with the polka dot dp, but I liked it better as a panel, although I think the polka dot skirt would be pretty cool!  The pearls on her blouse, handbag and handle of her shopping bag were made using Ranger's Liquid Pearls "Baby Blue".

Thanks for Peeping! Chana

Creative Freebies Challenge - Outlawz

Birdhouse Digital Image by Anne Fenton
Butterfly Digital Image by Sandi Huggett

I really wanted to make two cards for the Creative Freebies Challenge at The Outlawz, but time constraints made that impossible, so I decided to combine both images on one card.  I was really pleased with the result!  I printed Sandi's wonderful butterfly onto Vellum and then colored on the reverse side.  The designer paper is from Memory Box (I am a BIG fan of this company.)

If you love working with Digis, want to meet some of the nicest Peeps on the planet, and are interested in getting free fantastic Digis twice a month, then you should head over to the Outlawz and join the Creative Freebies Challenge Group.

Thanks for PEEPING!

Up And Coming Blogs - Liebster Award

SCROLL DOWN FOR THE STAMP-N-DOODLE BLOG HOP!

Lieber Blog Award

I want to send a HUGES SHOUT OUT to Heather over at Handmade by Heather for selecting me to receive the Liebster Award. It is such an honor! I have recieved this award four times and I am inspired by the generousity of my fellow crafters. I will make 200!
"The origins of the Liebster Blog award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favorite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note."

Without further adieu, here's what you do as a presenter of this award!

1.Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
2.Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
3.Copy and paste the blog award on your blog.
4.Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve.
5.Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.

So, now it's my turn to pay it forward, my picks for fellow bloggers with less than 200 followers, in no particular order, are as follows:

FranCine at Confiseries Papier
Michelle at Woodburn Crafts
Audrey at Paper Arts Girl
Janice at Twin 2u2 Designs

Now, if each of the 5 ladies I chose would please choose 5 of their own!

Crafters's Cafe Challenge Blog - Ribbon and Lace

Digital Image -Digital Delights by Louby Lou

A big shout out and thank you to our sponsor for this challenge, Digital Delights.
Such a precious little angel!    My greatest challenge here was trying to decide how to seat her on the card!  I wasn;'t so satisfied with with how any of my lace worked, but the laced doilie was spot on!  Don't you just love the dp?  It was in a Colorbok Paper, Stickers and Punch-outs pad that I found at Big Lots for three dollars  I would love to see your creation in The Crafter's Cage Blog Challenge.
Anything you creat is fine as long as you use Ribbon and/or Lace!
Thanks for taking a PEEP!
