Sentimental Journey Home

Hi, Crafty Peeps,

I have been practicing the tile technique and this is one of my efforts.  It didn't turn out exactly as I wanted, but I am posting it anyway.  It will be nice to look at it a few months from now when, hopefully, I have improved on my technique!

I have had this scenic stamp for over 10 years and just never used it because I don't think I am so proficient at coloring scenescapes.  Fortunately, using it this way, I didn't have to pick up a Copic.

Large tiles like this are more dramatic when done with brighter colors, such as blue and white, but sepia is more appropriate for the theme of this card.

To add some dimension to the project, I used the Memory Box  Country House Die.  I applied Versamark to both sides, and wet embossed it with dark brown embossing powder.  I used my craft knife to reinforce the cuts for the doors and shutters on the top windows.  I am still thinking about the butterflies and may ultimately remove them before this goes into the stationery box.

Since this is a component of a stationery set, I left the inside mostly unadored.

Supplies:
Memory Box Country House Die
Sizzix Butterflies Die #12
Fab Scraps Scrapping Goodies
Ranger Archival Ink - Sepia
Unity Stamp
Neenah Cardstock - Natural White and Versamark Watermark Stamp Pad
Hug Snug Rayon Seam Binding
Stamp-n Stuff Chocolate Brown Embossing Powder - Opaque

Thanks for stopping by!
