HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEAN!! A SUPER WHY DAY!!!!

My grandson, Sean, celebrated his 2nd birthday yesterday and Bubbie made a card for him!  Bubbie also posted his card on her challenge site at 613 Avenue Create.    This week we are introducing a new sponsor at 613, Creative Bugs Designs a company owned by my friend Naomi.  Her images are delightful and we are sure you will enjoy working with them
I did not know the theme of the party when I made the card!  Hopefully, the birthday boy won't mind!

Here are some photos from Sean's Party:

Paris Mist - Tim Holtz 12 Tags 2013/ April

PARIS MIST

I did not have any of the Tim Holtz Distress Paints, so I could not emulate the patina effect that he demonstrates in this month's tag.  But, since I made this little deal with myself to completing all 12 tags, I decided to see what I could do using TH Distress Stains and my artist's acrylic paints and rubs.  This tag has almost six layer of paint and stain.  I just kept blending until I got the effect I wanted, well, I guess that should be amended to the effect I liked.  I never really know what I want when I start these projects.

I keep forgetting that when I apply the sealant it will darken the colors.   It is unfortunate that my lavender is not showing up more because it is really gorgeous and gives the tag an eerie, misty feel.  A small bit is visible at the base of the Eiffel Tower.  I did order several of the distress paints because If found them on sale.  Joann's also had the TH Distress Stains for 40% off, so I added to my collection.  I keep trying to get in on the Blitsy sales, but by the time I see the e-mail, all the best TH stuff is sold out.

Fashion Statement - Hattie by Rick St. Dennis

 Hello, Crafty Peeps,

I had the wonderful pleasure of being asked to create a project as a GDT by Rick St. Dennis.  This image is a new release and I was thrilled to be asked to create the presentation project.

I love the image!  I am a big fan of hats and being a former evangelical minister, I have worn my fair share (Pictures to follow (LOL)) so I chose the title "Fashion Statement".   I truly believe that hats say so much about a "lady".  All of my hats were designed, and or chosen, to make a statement.  I have an "Audrey Hepburn" hat that would always turn heads because it created so much drama.  My Face was almost totally hidden which aroused natural human curiosity.  Everyone wanted to know, who is the lady under the hat.  I always wore it when I knew the visiting preacher was more of a fund raiser than  a true man of G-d.  I had a real need to hide my face and my eyes. :D)

The papers used on this project are from the Graphic 45 A Ladies' Diary Collection.  They seemed the most appropriate.  I used the Tim Holtz Postage Stamp Die (I plan to use this for two other Rick St. Dennis Image projects and use them as a collection) and Spellbinders' Scalloped Oval Die.   I added the boot cutout, because after all, what good is a fabulous hat without an equally fabulous pair of shoes.

Hoarded Supplies Used:  Bling Flourish (2 years old because I don't use a lot of Bling) Neenah Natural White Card Stock (8 years old.  Still working down inventory from Business)
Graphic 45 A Ladies Diary (8 months Old.  Only got up nerve to cut about a month ago)
Prima Flowers - Around Six months.  Forgot I had them.  Went scavenging for yellow flowers and there they were!

Please visit Rick's Shop  http://www.etsy.com/shop/RickStdennis  you will enjoy his images.  They are varied, interesting and fun to work with.  Rick Also has a wonderful Blog with a fabulous design team showcasing his work!

For The Rest Of My Life

Hello, Crafty Peeps,

This week at 613 Avenue Create, we have a wonderful sketch by our very own Kathi Silvia.

I love Kathi's sketches, because they allow you to creatively use your papers and embellishments, but they always seem to provide ample opportunity to allow focal (image or grouping) to shine.  I struggle with sketches that have so much going on that the eye cannot find a place to rest.   We hope you will join us.  The winner will receive 7 free digital images from Bugaboo Stamps

I just love this image from Bugaboo.  The sentiment that comes with the image defines marriage as finding someone you can annoy for the rest of your life.  After 43 years of marriage,  I would define marriage as finding someone you can annoy and getting away with it! (LOL)

I received this 3 piece Itty Bitty Stamp from Unity Stamps in the mail on Friday. Boy was it timely!
This was a fun, quick project!  I had to make it quick because I am still up to my ears in Tax Returns.  The good thing is that I will earn enough to cover my crafting purchases for the rest of the year.  When I look at it that way, Monday won't seem so bad at all.  I'll just keep thinking Tim Holtz, Spellbinders, Memory Box, Crafty Steals, ......etc., etc., etc.

Thanks for stopping by,
Hugz,
Chana

A Gypsy Spirit

Outlawz Greetings Challenge - Anything Goes

This Rick St. Dennis is a perfect fit for the G45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe Papers.  What a fun collection. I need to think of something else to do with it.  Now that I have conquered my reluctance to cut into my G45 papers, I have all kinds of ideas.

This week, I'm working up my nerve to cut into my Prima Engraver and Romance Novel Collections.  I really have to conquer this habit of buying papers and just looking at them.  Maybe I should have been a wallpaper salesperson! (LOL)

If you like Mr. St. Dennis's Images, you might want to join us next week at the 613 Avenue Create Challenge when Mr. St. Dennis will be our Guest Designer.   I am so looking forward to that!
