613 Avenue Create - Challenge #220210 - Anything Goes w/ Optional Twist: But First Coffee!

Hello, Crafty Peeps!
Getting back into cardmaking is definitely challenging. I am just going to put that out there!💖

For my second toe-dip into the creative cardmaking waters, I decided to create a card for our challenge at 613 Avenue Create.  As always, we have the Anything Goes part of our challenge.  Our Optional Twist is a favorite of mine!

I did a deep dive into my stamps to find my favorite "coffee" themed set.  The blister card is long gone so I can't say who manufactured it. It comes with a female image, five fun sentiments, and a coffee ring stamp.  In one of my other sets, I found a coffee bean stamp (didn't even know I had that one.)

I thought a little gingham would give the card that warm, cozy kitchen feel, so I used one of my favorite Mirtillamente digital mini-paper paks.

I had to play around with the construction of my layers, The gingham print is visually strong and when used as a full layer tends to overwhelm the rest of the design.  In the end, I decided that a slight strip peeking through at the top and bottom would render the best graphic impact.  To pull more of the paper into the design, I cut a small heart and secured it with some twine and a little bling.

I stamped the image onto a piece of designer paper and paper pieced the robe onto my image.   My coloring is still a little rough, but most of that is due to the condition of my Copics.  I really need to get some new markers!

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!

A PLACE TO START - CHALLENGE #202210 - OCTOBER 2022: ANYTHING GOES w/Optional Twist: CIRCLES AND SQUARES

 Hello, Crafty Makers

This is my first post since January of this year.  It feels so liberating!  I might even believe I have turned a corner.
We shall see.

We have a fun twist for you this month over at

This is a great twist because it opens up a world of possibilities. The circles and squares could be the shape of your card or a design in your background. It could be a tag or a box. A journal or a window in a shaker card And, of course, you could combine circles and squares in interesting and creative ways!

My project using
Conie Fong Art & Design's
" Kissed by an Angel"
The moon is my circle element.
The card started out as a square card but I got distress ink on my border and I was forced to downsize.

I must admit that I took a very simplistic approach to this challenge.  But that was only because I decided to make this card at 10:30 on Saturday night.  It has been so long since I created a card, both my markers and my glue had dried out. Fortunately, I have TONS of tape runners and glue sticks.😊  All in all, for my first creation after such a long absence, I can live with it!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to see a fun submission from you in our challenge!
Hugz,
