OUTLAWZ - 2000 MEMBER PARTY

Hello, Cardies, just a quick post!  Well, the party is on over at the Outlawz!  We are celebrating 2000 members!!!  We have fabulous prizes, engaging games, wonderful sponsors, and pages and pages of outstanding design from our DTs and from our members!

The Outlawz is a fabulous, growing community of "designing men and women."   If you are not already a member, I invite you to join us!  We have eight challenge groups, one for each day of the week, and our special "Creative Freebies Challenge" that gives you  two opportunities each month to receive up to four  truly fantastic free digital images.

You will find our membership to be warm and encouraging and our DTs are about the most supportive folks in the world!

My card was supposed to be "Americana" but I totally missed seeing that theme, so no Red, White, and Blue here, but, what is more American than "DRESSIN' UP AND LOOKIN' CUTE!"  I really wish the details in her gown had photgraphed better.  This was my first time "painting" with  Perfect Pearls and it really turned out nice.  The gown has a nice sheen with lots of little sparkles.  So pretty!  I love trying new stuff!

I hope to see you at the party!  Thanks for stopping by!

Big Gigantic Hugz,
Chana

LOVE BIRDS - Crafter's Cafe Challenge Card

Hi, Another quick post!  I would absolutely love to have you join us at The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog!  Our theme this week is Pearls and Swirls!  The image is a freebie from MelJen's Designs.  I don't do a lot of Swirls and Pearls, so I may have gotten just a little carried away!  My teammates have come up with some really fabulous projects.  I would love it if you would drop by, check out their work and enter a project into the challenge!  See you there!

Country Girl

Hello Cardies!  Just a quick post to invite you to join us over at Stamp-N-Doodle for our weekly challenge. This week our challenge was to use Swirls in our design!  I have wanted to use "Country Girl" in a design for a while, but wasn't quite sure how I could incorporate Swirls.  I hope you like my solution.  Hope to see an entry from you at Stamp-N-Doodle!  Hugz, Chana!

Just Thanks - Outlawz Greetings Challenge

Hello Cardies!  Thanks for stopping by!  This week at The Outlawz, The Greetings Challenge Team is playing Tic Tacky Toe!  I chose Flowers, Lace, and Pearls.  I really wanted to play with my new EK Large Retro Flower Punch, and I wanted to use this pretty peach paper!  Worked out pretty well.  I am putting together a "Card Basket" for my sister and this one is definitely going into it!  Hope you will join us at The Outlawz!

Make A Wish - Guylou's Inimitability

Good Morning, Cardies!  My teammate, Kim, over at Guylou's Inimitability challenged us to create a CAS card using Kraft Cardstock.  Although I know it is very popular in crafting, I don't own a lot of Kraft paper.  You would have gotten quite a giggle watching me destroy my studio looking for a pack of paper I just "knew" I purchased at Michaels during one of their sales.  It did not help that my DH was standing there with this little smirk on his face saying, "which sale, Hon?  The Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Weekend Sale?  Last week, This week?  I'm just trying to help jog your memory. Oh, I have an idea, why don't you look at your Credit Card Statement...that should help!"  I cannot believe that I have been crazy in love with this man for 43 years!  Must have been something I ate! :D)

Anyway, I deported DH from my studio, found my Kraft paper and then spent two days unable to come up with a design.  Guylou just gave the team a wonderful collection of new images (she is so generous) but nothing was coming out right.  Finally, I decided that I would just make a really simple, basic card that I could give to one of my staff who just had a birthday.  She likes anything with "fairies" and I thought this would be perfect!

Challenge Deadline:
You have until 10:00 pm on June 28th to link your project. Please make sure your project matches the requirements before you link it.

How to participate:
You can enter only ONE project per challenge, but if you use a Guylou's Inimitability digistamp, your project will count for two entries. If you don't have one of her digistamps and your budget is tight; please check her online store where several freebies are available.

Prize:
A winner will be selected randomly and will win:
A $10.00 gift certificate from Guylou's online store
and the winner will also be invited to be a Guest Designer on one of our upcoming challenges.

****You can win a free digis! Here's how: Enter a project in Guylou's Challenge and then come back here and leave a comment letting me know your entry #.  I will have a random drawing for up to three winners****\

Thanks for stopping by!  Hugz, Chana

Thank God For The Journey - Stamp-N-Doodle - Tag It

IMAGE "Quiet Moments"  by  LYNN CROSSKILL - STAMP-N-DOODLE

Good Morning, Cardies!

The Challenge Theme this week at Stamp-N-Doodle is "Tag It."  This is my third "tag" challenge in as many weeks, and I am finding that I actually like  the idea of adding tags to my cards.  I love this image because it reminds me that we should always just take a moment and have a little "quiet time".  Whether spent in prayer, reflection or just sleeping, it is important for all of us to just slow down and enjoy the Journey.  My daughter just celebrated her 39th birthday.  Funny, just yesterday, I remember, I was only sixteen.

You have until 11:59pm Tuesday, June 19th to enter your project.
It is not necessary to use a Stamp-N-Doodle Image, but we would sure love it if you did..
Please, no back linking.  New creations only!

Hope to see you there!  Thanks for taking a peek!
Hugz,
Chana

JUST A LITTLE FISHERMAN-

Hello, Cardies!  The Greetings Challenge over at The Outlawz this week is to create a project that celebrates Great Outdoors Month - The project can be for Father's Day or any MALE oriented design.  I chose this adorable image by Robert Jackson for my DT Inspiration card.

Tammy's Scrapin' Corner is also hosting a Male/Father's Day Theme in their weekly challenge, so I am able to kill the proverbial two birds with one stone.  Tammy's has a wonderful team of talented designers, fun challenges and great sponsors. The sponsor is MelJen Designs. You could win 5 digis of your choice!

I have grown quite fond of tags and lately find myself using them a lot.  I ordered these tags from Office Depot, and I like the idea of being able to cut them down to whatever size I need.  For the most part, I leave them in their original size.  I think I have found the perfect size card (for me anyway) and I am using that for most of my projects.  I may try some shaped cards later this month.  I have a few Grand Dies that have been gathering dust.

Thanks for stopping by!

COWBOYS - Stamp-N-Doodle Challenge

Image "Cowboys On The Rail" by Lynn Crosskill
I love Cowboys!  Some of you may remember the digi that I use about a month ago called "Lonesome Cowpoke," well, this is another of Lynn Crosskill's Cowboy Digis and I just love it!  There is just something "romantic" about the idea of a rough and tough, yet gentle spirited man that is the perception of the American Cowboy!
Over at Stamp-N-Doodle this week, we have a Sketchy Color Challenge.  You must use the sketch and include the color "Peach" in your design.  I don't normally associate the color peach with cowboys, but I though I could put one of them in a rust colored shirt and use a peach colored dp to stay true to the challenge.
All of the papers used on this card are from My Secret Stash.  MSS is not a company it is stuff that I asked people for or, stuff that has been given to me by family and friends and strangers with the words, "I thought you might be able to do something with this on one of your cards."

Here's the sketch

Thanks for dropping by!

Happy Birthday, Little Girl! - Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog

Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog:  Swirls and Pearls
Challenge ends on June 30th, Challenge Sponsor

Hello, Cardies!  My daughter celebrated her birthday on June 2nd and this is the card I made for her!  I love this image from The Stamping Boutique's Smooch Series and thought it would be perfect for Stace!  I got some interesting papers and wanted to play around with mixing  and matching the different textures.  So the base dp is a wood grain, the next layer up is a grass, and the third layer is a linen.  I don't know if it translates so well in the photo, but in "real life" it is a very cool look.  My daughter loves it.

I also wanted to see how closely I could match the colors in my handmade flower to the colors in my dps and ribbon.  I was super pleased with the result and I am now playing with color combination and different colors and weights of paper.  I have prepared a tutorial on making the flowers, but I am submitting it with a card to an online magazine and won't be able to post it here until after the project is published.

I am still working on coloring black hair.  Actually, I am working on coloring in general.  I keep signing up for classes and since they are available to me online, I go in and work on my skills as my time allows. My other new passion is seam binding.  Hancock Fabric had a huge sale and I picked up a bunch, but I found a better deal on Amazon, and I also found a tutorial on using glimmer and matte mist to custom color seam binding.

My teammates have created fabulous projects for this challenge (They even remembered to include Swirls; I sure didn't).  I looking forward to seeing you there!

Big Hugz,
Chana

A CHOICE OF COLORS - JACKSON'S DIGITAL EXPRESSIONS

Hi, this is DT Image Release Week over at Jackson's Digital Expressions.  Each month, Robert creates images exclusively for the design team.  These images are released to the general public after the DT has had an opportunity to create with them for the first challenge of the month.  This week, three of the new images are featured in our challenge.  You have to vist the blog to see what Roz did with Robert's new "Purse". Trust me, it is gorgeous!

Hop over to Jackson's Digital Expressions and join in the Challenge. This week, the challenge is being hosted by The Color Challenge Team and they have chosen some wonderful colors to work with.  As always, the Challenge is "Anything Goes" so you don't have to use the inspiration colors  Also, make sure you check out Robert's Site Fine Arts By Robert Jackson.  He releases new images bi-weekly, so there are a lot of great new images to choose from.

I am still working on visiting all of my followers, so, if I have not been to your blog yet, hold on, I'm comin'.
Hugz,
Chana

TAG YOU'RE IT! - GUYLOU'S INIMITABILITY

Image "Alexandra" by Guylou's Inimitability
Hello, Cardies!  I am so late with this post, it was supposed to be up on Wednesday!  My great friend Roxann, over at Guylou's Inimitability, challenged us to create a tag large enough to feature an image.  Since I like "messing" with Roxann, I just scaled down my ballerina to fit my tag! (LOL)  I actually used two tags, one cream and one aqua!  By the time I finished adding embellishments though, you can just barely see the edge of the aqua tag peeking through!   Of course, all my followers know that this is a lot of stuff on a project for me.  I am a minimalist by nature, but I wanted to see if I could pile all this stuff on without going into CAS withdrawal. :D)

Challenge Deadline:
You have until 10:00pm on June 14th to link your project to the InLinkz at Guylou's Inimitability.

1. A $10.00 gift certificate from Guylou's online store
2. and the winner will also be invited to be a Guest Designer on one of our upcoming challenges.

Hope To see your entry at Guylou's Inimitability!

Hugz,
