CASE CHALLENGE #1 - WEEK TWO: USE STUFF THAT HAS NEVER BEEN USED BEFORE

Hello, Crafty Makers!

This is week two of my new CASE (Copy And Share Everything) Challenge.  Since there were no entries last week, I am extending this CASE for an additional week!

To be taken directly to the challenge,  click the link below:

This challenge is a CASE challenge.  Each week, a card will be featured.  Your challenge is to create your version of this card, but you must change at least 3 elements.

HERE IS THE CARD TO BE CASED

I am hosting it here on my blog (I just couldn't set up another challenge.)  There will be no design team but your entries will receive comments from me, and hopefully from the other challenge players. This challenge is strictly for fun.  Most of the challenges will include a craft-along video.  This is a weekly challenge that will start on Wednesday and end on Monday of the following week.

HERE IS THE SECOND ITERATION OF THE CARD THAT CAN BE CASED!

The Tulips and stems were colored using Liquid Pearls!
This detail is difficult to see in the picture, sorry!  But since you must change at least 3 things, I want to provide as much information as possible!

SHOPPING OUR STASH - CARD #2 - DELIGHT!

 Hello, Crafty Makers!

This is my second post for the challenge at Shopping Our Stash!

You are being challenged to create a project in which the SENTIMENT is the star.  Your project cannot have any stamped or digital images.

Stash items: Everything used on this project is over 5 years except the white cardstock which is about two years old!
I love Heidi Swapp's sentiments, and the single, large ones are my absolute favorites.  I wanted to collect them all but only managed to get four before they sold out.
~  ~  ~  ~
Base - Kraft - 5.25"x5.25"
Base - Kraft - 5.25" x 5.25"

Inside panel: 5.0" x 5.0"
Layer: 5.0" x 5.0"
Crimped Edge: 1.50" of Crimping

Round Layer: 4.0" Kraft Card!  Colored with Distress Oxide inks.  I used glycerine to smooth any lines in my background before adding the stencil.  The stencil was inked with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink.
Decorative Frame: Size will depend on how much space you want between this frame and your sentiment panel.
My panel is 3.0".  The size is really driven by the sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope to see your project in the challenge at:

Shopping Our Stash - Challenge #499 - Love Makes The World Go Round

 Hello, Crafty Peeps!

I am so happy to return to the design team at
I have been on a very long sabbatical, and it feels good to be back with my teammates!
~  ~  ~  ~

I was planning to return in July, but when I saw the challenge for this fortnight, I just had to jump right in!

The challenge is to use a sentiment or quote as the focal point of your card.  No colored images or stamped images.  Let's make words the focus on this project!

I have not used my "Love" die or my WRMK Next Level "Hearts" EF in a few years, and it has been even longer since I used my crimper!  In my head , I could just see those two elements working together perfectly as anchors for my focal.

I was surprised at how quickly this project came together.  Even my faux-water colored panel turned out perfect on the first try.
I cut a circle frame from craft foam to give the focal depth. The sentiment panel is mounted on double-sided foam tape!
The embossed hearts add texture and depth to the design!  I cut the sentiment three times and glued them together.  I added an adhesive-backed rhinestone for a little extra interest!
The crimped bottom is just fun!  I drew inspiration from a Pinterest project.  I knew crimping would be great for this card.
As usual, I kept the inside simple.  This card is going to be included in a client's order so I need to leave white space.

Craft Along With Me - Session#3: Use Stuff That Has Never Been Touch

 Hello, Crafty Folks!

I recently started crafting (remotely) with a few of my friends.  We used to take turns hosting the crafting sessions, but I have been asked to be the permanent host.  We meet on Tuesday evenings for what we call crafting and craziness.   This week's theme was "Use Stuff That Has Never Been Touched!"

Every element used in creating these cards, except my Maker's Mart and Spellbinder dies, has been in my stash (untouched) for over 10 years.

Be You - Birthday Card
I created this card during the crafting session!  The sessions are fun because we use our stash.  The goal is to get as close to the "challenge" card as possible without copying it exactly!

C.A.S.E.
We follow basic CASE rules.  You must change at least three things.  You can even change the shape of the card, although most of us choose to use the same shape.  That makes seeing the "original" project in our designs easier.

The Challenge Card
As the host, I had to create the challenge card first, and then create a CASE of my own card during the crafting session!  You can find the blog post for the "Style" card HERE
My first change was the palette.  I decided to use pastels!
I changed the arrangement of my geometric shapes and added splatter.  I also added a few additional plant stalks.
Other Changes:
Embossing Folder
No frame around the Circle Die Cut
I colored my tulip heads and some plant stems with Baby Blue and Mint Green Liquid Pearls
Simple Sentiment

CRAFT ALONG WITH ME - CHANA'S CREATIVE CORNER - CASE CHALLENGE

Hello, Crafty Makers!

Tomorrow will be the first day of a challenge I am doing with a group of crafting buddies here in Georgia.   I told them I would do a monthly test run to see if it catches on.

So the challenge is a CASE challenge.  Each week, one of us creates a card and the rest must CASE that card.  We used to rotate leading the crafting sessions, but they asked me to do it permanently.  Which means I must create two cards each week.   I don't mind because this is helping me improve my YouTube video delivery, and I am getting pretty good at video editing!

HERE IS THE CARD TO BE CASED

Our inaugural challenge starts tomorrow.  I am hosting it here on my blog (I just couldn't set up another challenge.)  There will be no design team.  This challenge is strictly for fun.  Most of the challenges will include the craft along video.  This weekly challenge will start on Wednesday and end on Monday of the following week.

June Challenge 613 Avenue Create - Moments!

 Hello, Crafty Mates!
This is my second project for our challenge over at 613 Avenue Create!
I had some boo-boos on my image and I wasn't going to post it.
I changed my mind.  After all, what are a couple of mistakes among friends?

Optional Twist: Summertime/Living is Easy
Moments
I know that kite flying is more of an activity for Spring, but I remember a few breezy summer days in Philadelphia when my sister Pat and I would raid the kite box in our dad's store.  We would then convince him it was too pretty a day to work.  So he would shut down his business and take us to Fairmount Park to fly our kites.  The amazing thing about this is that I was 18 and Pat was 16.  Go figure!  I am so glad that we had those Special Moments!

Sentiment Inside:  Today, Life is Good!

I just love this delightful image from Polkadoodles! They are sponsoring the 613 Avenue Create Challenge this month so please join us for your chance to win 3 of their awesome images!

💙DESIGN TEAM OPENINGS💙

613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes - Just For You Birthday Card

 Hello, Fellow Crafters!

Please accept our Playdate Invitation over at 613 Avenue Create!  This month's Optional Twist is:
  "Summertime/Living is Easy"
Create a summer themed project.  Of course, you may always play the Anything Goes option.

This is my Anything Goes Project!

A Birthday Card
I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest a while back. I thought it was a fabulously wonderful CAS design. I am glad that I did not own any of the dies or embellishments used by the designer. It gave me a chance to rummage through my stash.
I wanted to continue my embossing journey so I decided that I would add embossing to my project.  I added a layer of Kraft Cardstock!  My Kraft was a little lighter in color than I wanted, so I colored it with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink.

This also seemed like the perfect time to use one of the hundreds of Prima Flowers in my stash.  Lots of browns and greens!

I try to keep the inside of my cards simple.  This card is for a client, so I  left room for the client to write a personal note.

Thanks for Stopping By!

Thank You So Much - A Color Project

 Hello, Crafty Peeps!

I'm back with another embossing project! I am going to play around with these for a while. I also think I am going to start using some of my under-utilized Distress Inks and Oxides.

One of the fun features of this embossing technique is the ability to leave parts of the embossed image untouched.  The white portions are visually interesting and enhance the 3D effect!  This is a "VERY OLD" Sizzix EF.  It was one of my first embossing folders.

The splatter on the white letters looks like confetti!
I only added one flatback rhinestone to this project.  That Exclamation Point was the perfect location!

I used Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers, and Orange Marmalade.  I love these colors because they blend together so well.
The inside is very simple.
I am very pleased with how this project turned out!  I am scouring my EFs for more project ideas.  I want to see how this works with foiling!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugz,
Chana Malkah
