Hello, Crafty Makers!
It is time for a new challenge at A Place To Start!
This month the theme is
"Anything Goes!"
We want to see what our crafty friends are doing! The world seems brighter these days, and we know that has translated into your crafty projects!
I am having such success with my practice projects! This was a technique practice sheet that exceeded my expectations. I hope all of my background practices help me stumble into projects like this.
Fascination
I have always been fascinated by the sky! When I was young, I would climb trees at night and spend hours staring at the dark, starlit sky. Before harsh street lights and pollution obliterated the view, we could look up in the sky and see all the constellations.
There was an open field right next to where we lived. This field crossed several streets and stretched for almost two miles. All the kids in the community would go there to play. Spring and Summer were spent flying kites and playing field sports during the day, and laying in the grass watching the stars at night, while planning how we were going to change the world. One of our other favorite activities was catching fireflies in jars. Their glow would light up the field with a soft, eerie fluorescence. The yellow glow in this card pays homage to that memory! Can you imagine the beauty of two miles of soft, shimmery light? Now imagine it with the Temptations and Aretha Franklin playing softly off in the distance. Fascination is the only way to describe the beauty of the sky that was above me and the beauty of the dreams my friends and I shared beneath it!
Thanks for Visiting! I hope you will share your creative efforts with us at A Place To Start!
