A Place To Start - October Challenge - Use Red, Yellow, and Green - The Colors of Fall

Hello, Crafty Makers!

I love creating fall-themed cards!  The challenge at A Place To Start is "Use Red, Yellow, and Green."

I was delighted with how well my homemade stamps worked.  I have a number of dies with no matching stamps.  This will allow me to play around with them and find new ways to create images.

I created this banner over a year ago.  I added a bit more Distress Ink to bring out the detail and added my foiled sentiment.

This is one of the rare times that I added a sentiment to the interior of my project.  One of my self-challenges for 2021 will be to add sentiments inside all my cards.

This is how I created my Background

I used my Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves Bigz Dies and craft foam to create my own stamps.  The stamps then adhered to acrylic blocks using an AdTech removable glue runner.

The stamps can be used multiple times!
I stamped the leaves in a very random manner.  To create more depth, I would stamp a leaf in a dark color and then stamp over it in a lighter color or vise versa. There were white spaces between the leaves in some areas.  I colored those areas in with contrasting inks.  I used a water brush to apply the colors to avoid hard edges.  Inks: Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, and Picked Raspberry.  Cardstock: Neenah Solar White 110# CS.  The Craft Foam is from Darice!
I used a small stencil and distress ink to create the design on my banner.  The sentiment was foiled using my Go Press and Foil machine.  I wanted to keep the sentiment simple since the background is the focal element in this design!

Give the foam stamps technique a try!
This is a fun way to extend your stash without spending your cash!

SOS Challenge 431 - October 13 - Happy Fall Y'all! - Create a project with an Autumn or Autumn Holiday Theme

 Hello, Crafty Peeps!

I love fall!  My backyard is currently a riot of red, yellow, green, and orange!  "The Hubster" is not so happy because leaves are falling faster than he can mulch them.  He maintains the lawns at both of our homes and works this is the time of year that causes him the most headaches.

The Fortnight Challenge at Shopping Our Stash is: "Create A Project with an Autumnal or Autumnal Holiday Theme."  You can make birthday, anniversary, or thank you cards and everything in between.

I have had this Tim Holtz Framelit Acorn Stamp and Die set for over 8 years and this is the first time I have used any of the elements.  The sentiment is an unbranded layered set.  I foiled the sentiment using my Go-Press and Foil Machine!

I don't know why Stickles never photographs as pretty as it is IRL.
I cut a second acorn from craft foam and adhered it to the back of the image.  I also added foam dots to the sentiment for dimension.

Anecdotally, "The Hubster" had one of the Oak trees on our second property cut down last year and now he misses the acorns...this card is for him. I look forward to seeing your entry in our challenge!  My teammates have created awesome samples!

Thanks for the visit!
