Tim Holtz-12 Tags of 2013 - Outlawz Greetings Challenge

The Outlawz Greetings Challenge - Anything Goes

Hi, Cardies!  Well, my Atlanta Falcons will not be in the Super Bowl, again!  But, my candidate won the election, and I thoroughly enjoyed the "laid back" inaugural festivities   Also enjoyed the memories of Dr. King, so, I guess two out of three is not bad!  This has been a wonderful Day.  Almost made me forget how much I don't like the San Francisco 49ers..almost!

In my crafting life, I decided this year I would attempt to do the Tim Holtz 12 Tags.  Don't know if I will make all 12 Months, but I did like the January tag,  Fortunately, the Outlawz Greetings Challenge is Anything Goes so this worked perfectly!

I stamped a length of seam binding (as shown in Tim's tutorial) and then colored it with all the inks I used in my card and it turned out pretty cool.  I used the same colors on the scrap of book page.   I did not want to recreate the tag that Tim made in his tutorial, but I was inspired to use a clock face embossing folder for my project.   Looking forward to next month's inspiration.   Oh well, I'm now off to start cutting slits in the top of all my embossing folders (LOL)

Here's what I used:

Embossing: Couture Creations' Timepiece (Their embossing folder already had the slit, so I did not have to cut mine as Tim recommended in his tutorial.)

Distress Inks:  Iced Spruce, Stormy Sky, Rusty Hinge and Gathered Twigs and Walnut Stain.

Emphemra:  (Clock Faces and 9-5)) Pink Paislee - Vintage Vogue

Gears:  Chipboard (Metallic Green) Petaloo Color Me Crazy  (Painted with Deco Art's Festive Green Metallic Paint)

Metal Gear and Game Spinners: Tim Holtz's Ideology

Wooden Button: Prima Buttons;  Flower Brad beneath Button:  K&Company

I stamped a length of seam binding (as shown in Tim's tutorial) and then colored it with all the inks I used in my card and it turned out pretty cool.  I used the same colors on the book page.   I did not want to copy Tim's project item for item, but I did like the idea of the using a clock face to emboss the tag.  Looking forward to next month's inspiration.   Oh well, I'm now off to start cutting slits in the top of all my embossing folders (LOL)

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to see your work in the following challenges:
