Hello, WOYWW Peeps, and other visitors!
Learn More About WOYWW HERE!
I can't believe how quickly Wednesday rolled around!
Here is my desk as of 12:30 AM!
Last night I was up until 2AM trying to decide on the elements I wanted to use in my SIL's planner! She really likes the planner I made for myself and talks about it all the time. I decided that I would surprise her with one as a Christmas gift.
My SIL is a cancer survivor.
I thought she would like this dashboard.
I enjoy creating my own planners. I can customize my forms as well as my dividers. I don't do a lot of decorating because my planners are very functional. I use them to plan domestic tasks, my crafting projects, and team obligations. The great thing about this planner is that my SIL only needs three sections. Easy peasy!I combined pieces from different planner kits to develop a theme using her favorite colors. I am going to give her a sticker holder, pen, washi tape, and some stickers so that she can decorate her pages as she wishes. I will decorate the January Month-at-a-Glance calendar to give her an idea of how to use the washi tape and other stickers.
The Hubster and I voted today! Georgia has not seen this kind of international attention since we hosted the 1996 Olympics! I was a volunteer at the games and I always thought that would always be my best volunteer memory. But in 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020, I learned that there are always more moments, more opportunities for Tikkun Olam (Hebrew: תיקון עולם, lit. 'repair of the world') a concept in Judaism, interpreted as an aspiration to behave and act constructively and beneficially.
Have a fabulous week! Stay prayerful, stay powerful, and stay creative!
Hugz,
Chana Malkah
Such a beautiful personalised planner, she will be over the moon with it I'm sure. I wish I was an organised person!

DeleteLovley planner. Have a good day. Anesha
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anesha!
DeleteI’m sure she will love it. You have some very cool stickers.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Teresa! I am in a group with some ladies who have sticker companies that make stickers for POC!
DeleteI like Tikkum Olam, and that the ethos is important enough to have a proper name, makes jolly good sense to me. Imagine having to vote again, isn’t it odd! I think your plan for you SiLs planner is great, she will be really pleased and excited to get going with it, I just know. How thoughtful you are.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julia!
DeleteShe is one of my favorite people on this planet. Creating for her gives me a special kind of joy! And, she is one of those people who makes you feel as though you handmade gifts are more valuable than anything you might buy off the shelf of Hèrmes!
Hi Chana. I love the idea that you are leaving bits for your SIL to decorate in her planner. Brilliant. I admit I hadn't clocked that Georgia was voting again... I do trust all soon gets settled over your side of the pond! What a beautiful phrase - repair of the world. Oh how God's world - which He gave us "richly to enjoy" - is in broken pieces. You are right - the opportunities to honour others and behave differently are so frequent if we look out for them.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Thanks, Margaret!
Deleteonly thing I can manage to plan is to get a planner someday! I'm inspired by you! robyn 35
ReplyDeleteLOL! I was the same way! I started with list making and slowly worked my way up to planning!
DeleteHello again Chana. I have just gone back and read your answer to my question. Thank you so much for taking the time out in a busy life.
ReplyDeleteTake care dear girl. G d bless you and keep you. May He make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May He lift up the light of His countenance upon you and give you peace

DeleteHi Chana!! Are you in Georgia? Where abouts? I live in Georgia as well, about 40 miles south of Macon!! Small world right?? Love your idea for your SIL!! She will totally love what you are doing for her and getting her started on her own journey!! Such a great idea!! I love the idea of Tikkun Olam!! We should all adopt some for of this idea. It's not rocket science really, if we would all act in such a manner daily! But thank goodness for this concept reminder that allows for us to become self aware so that we can start with "me" first and then hopefully others will see and make the change themselves!! Thank you for sharing that! Happy Hanukkah to you and yours! Blessings, Felicia #31
ReplyDeleteYes it is! I live in Decatur, Georgia, just outside Atlanta! We only have control over our own actions and not so much the actions of others (unless we are acting a group, i.e., voters, protests, etc.,) so the Sages say we should exert our greatest effort in areas where we are solely responsible for our actions. Tikkun Olam is one of my favorite concepts.
DeleteHave a wonderful Christmas and enjoy the time with your family!
What a lovely idea to make a planner for your sister-in-law! Also to give her the opportunity to decorate it as well. Hoping and praying that God's will will prevail in the USA. Tikkun olam is a wonderful concept and something we should strive for, as we have been appointed by God as His stewards to care for the beautiful world that He created. As we look around, we see what a terrible mess we have made of this, and how much of the damage is now irreversible until the Meshiach comes....
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting, and for your kind words! I am very interested indeed in what you said about the corn bread and would love a proper US recipe for it! The recipe I have got is in my bread machine recipe book and it's all I've got. I've never tasted the real thing!! So glad you like the kitty squares. I just wish I could get the project finished in time for Christmas but my hubby will have to wait a bit longer, I'm afraid. I'm so busy with other things and don't always manage to do as much on it as I'd like each day.
Have a great week!
Happy WOYWW,

I will get my hubby's recipe for you! He is a home chef and his cornbread is killer!
DeleteThanks so much for your lovely comments and for sharing your nutrition tips!
Oooh thank you Chana! I shall look forward to that. So glad you are enjoying my (mostly) weekly nutrition bits.

ReplyDeleteThe planner for your SiL is so thoughtful and a beautiful present to give her, I love how you’ve combined pretty colours with strength, perfect for a cancer survivor. I hadn’t heard of Tikkun Olam but it is a wonderful concept and something everyone should live by.

Hi Chana, lovely planner. I think I must need new glasses though as I'm finding the text on your blog really difficult to read. Maybe it's just me. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x12x
ReplyDeleteThat's a super planner for your SIL - of course, the real reason for doing January for her is because you can't help yourself LOL! There's something addictive about sticking down stickers and washi tape, so I don't blame you! Thanks for stopping by! Have a lovely week! xx zsuzsa #27
ReplyDeleteWhat a super duper planner, you SIL will love it.
ReplyDeleteHave to admit I only got into scrapbooking as a means of "keeping" all the lovely stash I was accumulating as a card maker! Started with a small 6" one where I chronicled the family tree, mainly wedding photos and children. I then got into 12" where I do the day to day stuff (I'd been doing sticky page albums before that anyways) but I also have an 8" on the go where I am just popping a few family photos each year in, it's essentially for our son and goes back to our wedding etc.. So to me it is more a photo album with some embellishments. I rarely just have one photo on a page! The more the merrier.
Merry Christmas if either of us are not around/forget next week BJ #25
Hi Chana, your SIL is certainly going to love and treasure such a thoughtful gift. I think a planner may definitely be the way to go for me to take control of my days- so much to do, so little time - and yet I use digital planners every day at work for keeping track of projects, and my team's activities! Maybe when life quietens down a little, I will look at planning a planner :). Thanks for stopping by earlier. I'm only concentrating on crocheting baby blankets for now, whilst I get used to tension and stitches etc. I have seen the word afghan on some crochet videos/posts, but I haven't a clue if that's a patten, a stitch or size of a blanket! Did I mention I am new to crocheting? Lol. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #30
ReplyDeleteWhat a great planner I am sure she will love it!! Thanks for your earlir visit. Have a good week, stay well, stay safe, Cindy #26

ReplyDeleteI love your post this week, the planner is a lovely idea and it's nice that your sil will get to decorate some of it too - I'm sure she will love it.
ReplyDeleteI like the concept of Tikkun Olam too, interesting and a good way to think - if ever we needed the phrase 'repair the world' it's right now.
Hope you have a good week,
Diana xx #22

What a terrific gift! Enjoy the season ~ Love, Karen #32
ReplyDeleteI am sure she will love her planner. I Saw a lovely planner set in W H Smiths yesterday, I am hoping it comes down in price, I thought £15 a little expensive, the little magnets were beautiful. Thank you for following my blog, have a great week. x Angela #5
ReplyDeleteI do like your planner, great when you can pick up an idea from conversation. I noticed your print gets smaller as it goes down the page, I could hardly read the last part, maybe I need glasses !!! Have a good weekend
ReplyDeleteHi Chana! Thanks for your visit to mine, and your lovely comments. Your planner looks awesome, although I wasn't able to get the first two photos, I will have to try again later. My life is a bit boring, my little $4 Dollar Store planner seems to be enough for me, I don't think I would have enough to fill a big one like yours! Have a lovely week! Lindart #33
ReplyDeleteLove your idea for a planner, and a lovely gift. if you do have a recipe for cornbread, I wouldn't mind a copy! Hope you have a great crafty weekend. Stay Safe. Happy WOYWW!?

Hi Chana, I'm so sorry for my tardiness! What a fabulous gift for your SIL, that dashboard is gorgeous and motivational, perfect. I have great plans for my planner in 2021 so I'm interested to see how you use yours. Mine's going to be less diary more list making going forward I think. It's so inspiring to see how others use theirs isn't it and what a huge planner community there seems to be. Anyway, have a great week, and if I don't see you before, have a lovely Christmas. ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and functional! She will love it.

Calling All Crafters! – My personal Blog!
Hi Chana, I hope you are enjoying the gifts of Hanukkah. What a wonderful present for your SIL. Sounds like she will be thrilled. I was intrigued by your mention of Tikkun olam. I'm not Jewish. I'm Episcopal, but back in the 60's when I was receiving my Confirmation into the church instruction, the ecumenical thing was in first full bloom. We had several classes with same-age kids from Catholic and from the synagogue and this tenant was explained to us as an instruction to conduct ourselves properly, in thought word and deed, and don't look past that because everything else one does is meaningless without taking care of the personal. So I learnt it as personal responsibility, which I do wish more people took seriously and saw the connection to freedoms and rights, and how we treat others. May you have a blessed holidays! XOX
