What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday #600

 Hello, WOYWW Blog Hoppers
and all other crafty visitors!

Thanks to all the wonderful WOYWW hoppers who stopped by and left such nice welcoming messages!  I know that I am going to enjoy participating in this group.  I hope it is okay for me to invite y'all to participate, from time to time, in my two challenges:
613 Avenue Create and A Place To Start.

It is 11:03pm, and I am finishing up the Christmas cards that I am making for my SIL!  When I spoke to her today, I found out that I had created five fewer cards than she asked for.  I decided to create the five additional cards using the most simple design in her set.  I also need to finish the tags for her gifts, but that is not urgent.

I had her cards all bundled up and ready to go and I even included a little pen for her convenience.  I was going to make a gift bag, but she poo-pooed that idea. She has the bag I created for her last year and she is bringing that when she comes to pick up her cards.
I think she will like these colors.  I am having a difficult time finding card stock to match the blue gift box.  I think I have one that is close...we'll see.
NOW I GET TO SHARE THE CARDS THAT HAD MY STUDIO IN SUCH A MESS LAST WEEK!

I have been so busy with my community organizing efforts, trying to get the cards done, and getting my challenge blogs caught up, that I totally forgot that Chanukah starts on December 11th.   I was wondering why The Hubster was asking me about Donuts and Latkes! Baruch HaShem, Amazon exists!  At least I was able to order my Chanukah candles and I had an excuse to purchase a new Chanukiah!  Our celebration will be a bit muted this year because my grandkids won't be coming down from Maryland but I am looking forward to lighting that first candle!  It is a great reminder that no matter how bleak things may seem, there is always room for a miracle!

I hope to be able to join the Zoom Crop on Saturday.  I can't join until after Shabbos ends at 6:09pm. (EDT)

Enjoy the rest of your week! Be well, stay safe, keep crafting!

  8. LOVE those cards. Sorry you will be missing your Grandkids - it's the same story all over. My son is in LA and I'm in the UK and we are going to be missing him like mad. My son's girl is Jewish (born in Israel) so I'm learning a bit more about food and holiday traditions thru her. Hopefully the Christmas miracle will be a concession speech and two more Senators on this side of the aisle LOL!

Glad you liked Bye Don! Let's all wave him off together.....

    Happy 600th WOYWW!

  10. Hi Chana. Glad you felt so welcomed last week. Happy 600th! You joined just in time to mark such a special occasion. Your cards are great fun! Well done on almost completing the order. Hope they are all done now.
I wish you God's peace and joy as you prepare to celebrate Chanukah. Lighting those candles - such a precious thing - even apart from your family. I also cannot currently see my family, as they live in England and I am in Wales. I am not allowed over the border, and they both live in areas of restrictions. The governments are hoping we can meet at Christmas for up to 5 days... we are all hoping we will meet, but keeping any plans very flexible!
May I ask? Is your name the Hebrew version of Hannah? She was such a beautiful woman of faith.
    Take care. God bless.

    1. Thanks, Margaret! The spelling of my name is a transliteration of the Hebrew spelling. The ch at the beginning of my name is pronounced like the ch at the end BACH! It is a difficult sound for non-Hebrew speakers to make so Chana becomes HA-NA! :)

  13. Hi Chana, nice to meet you, and happy 600th WOYWW. Lovely cards, and what a great crafting space. I'm missing my three grandchildren terribly, and my daughters- and Christmas definitely won't be the same, but we will make up for it when we can. Thanks for stopping by my blog - I don't manage to join in every week, even though I always have good intentions, but I will catch up with everyone when I can. Have a lovely week, and hope to see you on Saturday, hugs Heather xx #25

    1. Hi, Shoshi,
Thanks! Yeah, when I converted to Judaism choosing a name was so important! Chanah was "Highly favored of G-d and of course Malkah means queen. My Rabbi, who was also the head of my Beit Din thought it was a very appropriate choice! :D)

  19. Hi Chana, such beautiful cards! Your SILVis very lucky to have you.
Your comment on my blog made me smile, that you had to pick up your crochet hook to try to crochet left handed! Crab stitch always feels a bit wrong- handed to me as you do SC backwards.
    Hope to see you tomorrow

  20. Chana, your comment about joining the zoom tomorrow after 6pm EDT made me wonder. The times Julia gave are GMT. I think Georgia is 5 hours behind GMT so 6pm UK would be 1pm EDT, and I’m not sure we’ll still be on the crop at 11pm GMT. So sorry if we won’t see you but please check your timings. I’d hate you to be disappointed!
