Happy New Year, Crafty Peeps!
The theme at A Place To Start is "Anything Goes."
We are delighted to have Mirtillamente as our sponsor this month. I love Eve's images and I look forward to being able to use them on cards when I am able to color again.
"Country Home"
I used two papers from this collection to create this "Fauxbonichi" weekly agenda. I am making a lot of these little guys to give as gifts. The Mirtillamente papers are just perfect!
The process: I started by creating the signatures for my agenda. At the end of this post, I will place the links to the Sea Lemon Tutorials I followed to learn bookbinding.
Normally, I use lightweight chipboard as my foundation and I cover that with cardstock or fabric. For this project, I wanted the agenda to fit into the clear Hobonichi cover. This would work only if I used a material that was thinner and more pliable than the chipboard.
I finally settled on heavy, textured cardstock. Once the glue was applied, I did experience a little curling but I smoothed it out with my bone folder and then placed it beneath two heavy books.
~~~~~
Almost immediately, I knew that the red plaid paper would be the perfect complement to the owl print. I wanted to use Eve's designs throughout the agenda, so I opened the design up in Silhouette Studio® and traced and detached two of the owl images. I enlarged them to the size needed and then cut them out on my cameo 4. I used printable vinyl for the bookmark and page marker pockets, and small stickers.
~~~~~~~~
When the cover was finished, I felt that it needed a bit more contrast, so I added the strip of black dotted ribbon and that just elevated the design. I used that same ribbon on the paperclip. I was also super pleased that the pen loop on the plastic cover was large enough to hold my very favorite Kikki K® and Cross® pens! I have to make another agenda just like this one, cuz I'm keeping this one for myself! 😃
Stuff I Used:
Sea Lemon Bookbinding
Hobonichi Weeks Inserts
Another so very beautiful project. Love the papers and that you took those owls and used them just perfectly. Love it.
