Think Pink - Breast Cancer Awareness - Canvas Corp Brands

Hello, Crafty Peeples!

I am glad to be back with a post for BCA month!   This project was created for the Canvas Corp Creative Crew Breast Cancer Awareness Project!   Christine sent out a package of materials for this challenge.  I have a lot left and hope to create a few more "Pink" Projects throughout the month!

I enjoy working on canvas.  Over the past several months, I have discovered that I like playing with paint.   I love mixing crazy colors and textures and seeing what I end up with.  This project is not so crazy, but I did have fun trying to think of an interesting way to create an impactful image for BCA!

LIVE!
I had a wonderful black exclamation point for the my "Live," but somehow, it disappeared.  I figure it got stuck to the back of something and probably ended up in the trash.  This has happened before!  I spent almost an hour searching for it and then gave up!
I wanted to use the papers in the kit, but was concerned about the varying shades of pink.  I think tearing strips and addind them to the corners and sides worked out well.  I have had this Donna Downey stencil for a while.  I planned to use it on a journal that chronicles my fight against my disease.  Using it for this challenge gave me an idea of how to use it on the journal.
I traced the stencil with pencil so that I would not paint over the area.  Then I added painted the triangled areas.  After it dried, I used texture paste to add the stenciled image. The two layers of texture paste give the image a true 3D look!  I  painted with Tattered Angels' Almost Black Glimmer Mist (about 3 coats.)   The black photo corners were a last minute addition.  I kept looking at the canvas and thinking that it needed one more element to give it a stronger voice...then I thought of the metal corners.  It is amazing how these things pop into our heads.

WINNING!

IMAGE: "LIL INJURY" BY ROBERT JACKSON
This week at Jackson's Digital Expressions, we are recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness. Just last night a new research study was released which gives additional hope that we may be winning more and more battles against this devastating cancer. Please help us fight by entering a project at Jackson's Digital Expressions and Mema's Blog challenge. At Jackson's Digital Expressions $1.75 per entry is being contributed to Breast Cancer Research for every challenge entry. Mema's has pledged $10.00 per 40 entries in her monthly challenge. Two chances to make a difference by simply doing what you already love to do, Crafting. Below are some BCA images that you can purchase at Fine Arts By Robert Jackson, if you do not have BCA stamps or digis. Most Digi stores carry BCA images.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE A BCA IMAGE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CHALLENGE.  JUST MAKE A CARD AND USE THE COLOR PINK SOMEWHERE IN YOUR DESIGN!

Breast Cancer Awareness

Hello, Cardies!  I need your help!  Tuesday, My Challenge Blog, Jackson's Digital Expressions will host its Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge.  My husband, daughter and I are pledging $.25 each for each project entered into our challenge.  Francine, one of my designers, has joined us in this pledge.  I do not want money from you, I just want you to help by entering a project into the challenge.  The more entries we receive, the larger the donation.

Thanks in advance for your support of this most worthy cause!
