2020 Stash Party #5 - Romantic Love

Hello, Crafty Makers!

I am continuing my quest to diminish my stash and keep my money in my pocket!

 Romantic Love

As a part of my stash reduction self-challenge, I sometimes will just grab a couple of loose 6"x6" designer papers and try to turn them into a cohesive project!  That is what happened here.  The sheets I picked up just happen to be from the Graphic 45 French Country Collection.  So, I knew they would work well together I just needed to come up with a design.   I had a white panel with a heart cut out on my table, so I figured that would be an additional stash reduction.  I had seen a design like this in a CAS challenge and the only thing on the panel was the sentiment.  I just couldn't go with that.  My solution was to stencil on small hearts using Ranger's Walnut Stain Distress Oxide Ink.

 I still wanted more interest on the panel so I applied my homemade glimmer to each heart!   I use an old Wink of Stella brush to apply my glimmer.  I love that the glimmer also gave the hearts a satiny look.  I distressed the edges of the cutout with Ranger Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

To further incorporate the green patterned paper into the design, I used it to cut a strip of tiny hearts. The gingham ribbon was added for a bit of contrast and finished it off with a champaign pearl.

I was able to create dimension by cutting a second heart panel using craft foam! I am planning to do a lot of I "heart" you cards and since I don't want to purchase red cardstock, I am trying to come up with designs that use non-traditional colors and sentiments that are appropriate for various occasions.

Hello, Crafty Peeps!

Last week I promised to show my masculine cracker box.

Graphic 45's French Country Collection!  

So Here you go!

I am giving this as a Thank You gift to the Physician's Rep who works for the group that handles my infusion therapy.  The insurance company dropped my IG drug from their formulary and were being difficult about giving me a brand exception.  Todd worked very hard to coordinate the effort between my physician's office and his company to get the approval and he kept me informed along the way.

The box lid can hold tea bags, mints, etc.  

I placed an Altoids Smalls Tin in this one.

I chose to leave my panels unadorned but small metal 

Fleur de Lis (brads) look quite nice on the top panels!

 The G45 paper works so well to this box shape.  

It fully addressed my desire for elegance and practicality

 

A wooden button and a brad were used to create the lid pull.

The gold paper is embossed, but does not show well in the photo, however, IRL it is striking.  I used WRMK Next Level "Quilted" Embossing Folder (Diamond Shape) to mimic the paper pattern.

Shopping Our Stash-Challenge #207-For The Boys

Hello, Crafty Peeples!

Welcome to another fun challenge at Shopping Our Stash!   

Masculine cards are not really my forte, but I had all the pieces for this one just lying on my crafting table. Whew, this entire project was made using leftovers from my stash.  The background paper and small banner are both from Graphic 45's French Country Collection. 

The Navy and Ivory Ticking paper and corrugated cardboard papers are from Canvas Corp.  

The stamp is a Unity Stamp Company Itty Bitty Stamp!

 I used this old Mojo Monday Sketch, but did not make my card tall and skinny!

#204 Shopping Our Stash - Red, Red Wine

Hello, Crafty Peeples!

The challenge this week at Shopping Our Stash is  Red, Red Wine. 
 Use the color "wine"or use your wine stanps.   Use reds, or use a wine/drinking theme (or both!)

I made three projects for this challenge:
Two wine cradles and one wine bag

I love re-purposing and when I saw all the little cardboard sleeves used to protect my infusion meds, I asked my nurse, Amy, to save them for me.  My original plan for this challenge was to make the wine bag only, but, after tripping (twice) over my HUGE bag of cardboard sleeves, I decided to bring one of my ideas for the sleeves to life.

I used one of the infusion kit sleeves  to create the "There's Always Time for Wine" Cradle."
The Good Times Cradle was created using a Viva Ink Gold Carton that I've had for 6 months.

 My wine cradles fit perfectly inside the wine bag .  The Cradles look awesome on my very "rustic dining room table.

    I learned a few new tricks that will improve my "VERY" novice sewing skills!

The tag is from CCB's "Uncorked Sayings on Kraft."  The Fabric, from 7 Gypsies' "Farmhouse"

My inspiration this week was The SCS Faux Wood Frame.   I used just a basic Bazzill Textured Blue Card Stock that I streaked with TH Weathered Wood Distress Ink. I used SB standard squares to cut the frames and embossed them with my Couture "Pinstripe" embossing folder.  Using the direct to the paper technique, I applied Vintage Photo DI to embossed ridges. Finally, I added a little Ranger Crackle Accents.

The Paper is Graphic 45's French Country Collection

I am mailing this off to a friend, so I created a matching box!

 The French Country Collection is so full of wonderful detail, that a lot of fussy cutting was not required.  The Rooster was just screaming to be used and I wanted the stamp for depth and more texture.  This wonderful Prima Rose, with a little Vintage Photo DI added, round things off nicely! 

I found this sunflower stamp while browsing through my stash of Unity Company Stamps.  Nice!

I included this coordinating tag with the card.  There is an opening for another tag or for a gift.

 When I make these cards, I alway leave one cubby empty so that the recipient can create their own tag or gift item.  I was really pleased with the outcome of this project.

Recently,  I am in the mood to see how many different patterns I can combine without offending my eyes.  I have also found a new love: Candies.  These were a part of my B'day haul.

I usually use magnets to close my cards but I thought this one would look nice with a ribbon tie.

 I usually decorate my own mini bags, but these were B'day gifts, as well!  They were so timely.  

and can be a nice option if you are in a hurry!

would have been "just wrong."  Sometimes you have to break down and do the "expected."
