~~~~~
Vintage Flower
(Tag, Flower, Die, Vellum)
To create my rosette, I die cut one piece of printed vellum and four pieces of Kraft CS.  I glued the kraft card pieces together and lightly brushed the top one with both Black Soot™ and Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I used wet glue to adhere the vellum to the kraft card and then I added a thick layer of Glossy Accents™and set it aside to dry.  As the Glossy Accents dried, it formed interesting creases in the vellum and actually caused the edges to curl up (saving me the time).
Stuff I Used:
Stamps:  Prima® Life Time "Vintage",  Prima® Finnabair "Compositionen
Inks:      Distress Ink: Vintage Photo, Black Soot, Momento Tuxedo Black Ink
Paper:  Authentique™ "Fresh", Tim Holtz ™ "Wallflower Vellum"
Brads:  Petaloo "Shades of Black", Teresa Collins ™ "Vintage Finds" (banner brad)
~~~~~~
Country Iris
 (Tag, Flowers, Die, Vellum, Water Color)

Stuff I used:
Dies:      Unbranded Iris Die, Gina Marie "Stitched Wonky Ovals" Die
Papers:  Graphic 45® "Mother Goose Collection", Vellum (stash)
Brands:  Teresa Collins "Spring Fling" Brads
Distress Oxide Inks:  Squeezed Lemon, Wilted Violet ( "Faux" Water Color technique)

A Scrappy Little Tag! - Using my Gelli Print Scraps..A Salvage Operation

Hey, Crafty Peeps!
You have probably figured out that I am really into this Gelli Printing.  I made a resolution to use as much scrap paper as I could in my projects for 2017.  Gelli printing has helped me because not only can I print designs over old paper scraps or over designer paper that I do not like and will probably never use, I can also use the scraps for projects like this "cuffed" tag!

Everything in this project, including the Eiffel Tower, was created using scrap papers.

Who knows, this may be the year I become more proficient at creating collages.  Probably not but it is an encouraging thought!

To start my "salvage project,"
I decoupaged a bit of script from a scrap napkin onto the tag.

To add shine to the edges, I used  ColorBox® Teresa Collins™ Gold Shine Pigment Ink Pad.

I embossed a scrap piece of Gold card stock and adhered it to the back of my tag!
An embossed scrap piece of Gold card stock and adhered it to the back of my tag added elegance!
To create the "cuff" I folded over a small back section. A piece of elastic gold cord was slipped through the fold to create the hanger.
I added the Eiffel Tower Die Cut and this tag was good to go!
I am learning that not every project has to be super, super involved.  I have also learned that "forced" creativity can get your mojo back on track!

Shopping Our Stash - Gift or Gift Card Wrapping

Hello, Crafty Peeples!
This week at Shopping Our Stash, we challenge you to create pretty gift, wrapping, or card holders!
If you are a regular visitor to my blog, you know this is the time of year that I make these little gift baskets.
For this challenge, I decided to use the remnants of Graphic 45 "A Ladies' Diary" Collection to create an ensemble gift package.
Chanukah Gift Ensemble "Shani"
I created this Chanukah Gift for my friend, Shani, who lives in Israel.  I miss her so much and we just had our annual two-hour-long phone chat that made me miss her even more.  Now I need to up-cycle a cardboard box for packaging.  I am glad Chanukah lasts 8 days!  I also need to stop nibbling on the candy!
Journal/Diary
This journal,  from a Flying Unicorn  Club shipment (last year,)
was just perfect for creating a companion journal/diary element.
A little bling to hide the seam but mostly to add interest and voila!
The best part about making this book cover was not having to do anything except cut the paper to size and wrap it around the book.  I used my favorite Decoupage Technique to adhere the paper.  I also decoupaged the "A Ladies' Diary" label. Hard to tell this is not the original cover!

I added a pocket to the inside cover and I am thinking about adding one  "A Ladies' Diary" Stamped image to each page.  I love how the stamp strip folded over perfectly on the back cover.  Sweet!
The back is as pretty as the front.  I love G45 Papers for projects like this one.  Creating is fun and easy!
A little scoring plus a little Scor-tape and you get a perfect spine!
Electric Pillar Candle
I stained this electric pillar candle a few months ago to use for another challenge.  They didn't like it so I kept it on my table just waiting for the perfect project. So, what do you think?
Isn't this a nice addition to the ensemble?
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Stop by and leave some LUV for the rest of the SOS Team

Materials Used
Papers:  Graphic 45® "A Ladies' Diary™"
(I cut the basket using Neenah® CS and then glued the G45 papers onto the individual strips.  The paper alone is not sturdy enough.)
Flowers: Prima® Flowers
Gift Tags: Prima® "Something Blue" Collection
Brads: Bo Bunny
Border Bling:  Want2Scrap
Candy: Hershey® Nuggets

Shopping Our Stash - Challenge #228 - Thanks

Hello, Crafty Folks!
This week at Shopping Our Stash, we are looking for THANKS projects!
Every October and November, I load up on napkins and paper plates with pumpkins and leaves...all the fall themed stuff.   Every year I use a few and then pack the rest away for next year.  So, when I saw the theme for this challenge, I figured I would go through my stash of THANKSGIVING napkins and try to create a tag project.

THE GREAT TAG AND BASKET NAPKIN CLEARING OUT PROJECT!
Here is the napkin I chose to use.  Well, this one is a little wrinkled.
I traced a large tag onto a piece of chipboard, applied mod podge and allowed it to dry.  This was a two ply napkin, so I peeled away the white layer and worked only with the printed layer.  I placed the napkin on the chipboard tag, covered it with a piece of parchment paper and used my small craft iron to adhere the napkin to the tag.  It is important to keep the iron moving.

THIS IS HOW PROJECTS GET OUT OF CONTROL IN MY STUDIO!
Needless to say, I still had a boat load of napkins left, so I started looking around for something else to cover.  My eyes feel on this cute empty basket.
I kinda traced the shape of the interior
Using the same decoupage technique, I applied napkins to both sides.
Before placing the bottom insert, I draped napkins over the sides of the basket!
We are all coordinated!
Now, you know all that ribbon wasn't just there to be there!
I had to sew some little bows on to the sides of my basket!

A TISKIT A TASKIT, WHAT SHOULD I PUT IN MY BASKET?
Why fruit, of course!  BUT I needed PAPER to wrap the fruit .  I grabbed a few stamps
Voila!  Wrapping paper!  I made three different wrapping papers!
 And then I decorated my basket with a bunch of stuff from my stash!
HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  FROM MY HOUSE TO YOURS!

Gift Card Tag - Shopping Our Stash Challenge #227 Howdy Partner!

Hello, Crafty Peeps!
 Shopping Our Stash would love to see your Western Themed Creations!

 (Western (US) theme -- (horses, cowboy, cowboy boots, Native Indians)

Howdy Partner - Gift Card Tag

  My birthday is on the 20th, so naturally GIFTS are on my mind!
When I started this project, the only thing I knew for sure was that I wanted to use faux wood paper to cover the tag.  I spent about twenty minutes going through my paper pads and scraps (whew), before I found the papers I though would work best together.

Forgive the coloring!  My nibs were mostly dry.  It has been a long time!
  Another 15 minutes was consumed in looking through my ephemera.  Finally, I decided to use the bottom edge of a piece of 6"x 6" paper. The grouping was nice and established the color theme for the tag!  The rest was easy peasy.  I used a Sizzix rub on for the face!

Supplies Used:
Tag:  I traced the shape of a  G45 Regular tag album onto a sheet of faux wood dp from MME's Pretty Things. I applied one coat of gesso and one coat of varnish.  Looks like real wood!

Image:  Prima Doll (Becky), I used Sizzix's Dress Up Faces Rub On to add a face.  The paper pieced clothing is from MME's  Lost and Found3  "Oliver."

Paints:  Ann Butler Designs™Iridescents : Lagoon and Sheer Silver

613 AVENUE CREATE - CHALLENGE #103 - USE A SNOWFLAKE

Hello, Crafty Peeples!
Today is the Winter Solstice.  The first day of winter and the shortest day of the year for those of us here in the Northern Hemisphere. This week,  at 613 Avenue Create, our Optional Twist to the Anything Goes Challenge is:  USE A SNOWFLAKE(S) in your design.

For this challenge, I decided to create a tag.  As hard as I tried to avoid the tag looking like a Christmas Gift Tag, my mind kept going in that direction.  Finally, I just conceded....

My diminutive snowflakes are somewhat hidden by my foliage.
The white of the snowflakes was a little too harsh against the green background.
I could have toned it down by using a dark distress ink around the edges of the flakes.

I did not, at the time, own a Poinsettia Die.  I have since purchased one, but the small Sizzix Tattered Floral Die works as well.  I used Liquid Pearls to form the stamens.
