A Place To Start - November Challenge - Color Challenge - Caffeinated Tones

Hello, Crafty Peeps!
Color Challenge
"Caffeinated Tones"
You may add neutrals or other spot colors!
Keeping faith with my 2019 self-challenge, I created my first Tent Card.  I love it!
This style card is quite easy to construct and is a great way to use up paper scraps.  I will say that using a heavyweight acetate will make a sturdier card, particularly if you use heavy card stock.
My stamp and die set included a die for the belly band of the cup. The Java Nice Day Sentiment was a perfect fit!
I am always happy when I can mix and match stamp/die sets and still get a cohesive design.
As you can see, my acetate front is slightly bowed.  Next time, I will use heavier acetate sheets.

Creating the background for the card is a great way to reduce your stash!  I also learned a new crafting tip.  I have a lot of scrap sticker paper and I used it as backing for my background scrap strips, image, and die-cut. I cut a piece of sticker paper slightly larger than my card base.  I removed the release paper, adhered my scrap paper strips, and then trimmed the background panel down to the correct size.

  2. Hi, Chana! Wow, that is the coolest card with the acetate front! Thank you for the link to the tutorial. And excellent tip, too. I am trying to use up all my old Xyron cartridges (HOARD much? I do!) so I use those to get a sticky base for now. I've also made a sticky base with double-sided carpet tape before. Tacky glue as well, but those sheets you use are by far the easiest. But I have to tell you I was shocked - Basic Grey made Life of the Party? I thought I had them all but apparently not! Wow, I must have blinked or gone to the potty and missed that one. Yes, I'm jealous ;-). xoxo

    1. Thanks, Aimeslee! I am trying to use up my Xyron cartridges as well. I bought 20 of them from a craft site that was going out of business. I have two of the Life of the Party pads and I use them judiciously. I used to buy everything in bulk from Crafty Steals, I think was the name. Sometimes they would have great bundles. I hate that most of the small craft suppliers have been priced out of business! Bad news for us hoarders! :D)

  10. I am just amazed at the construction of this design, Chana. I have never worked with acetate on a card. You made it look easy, but I'm still not sure I could do it. All the design elements really pop, especially the lady!
