Look For The Rainbows - A Window Shaker Card

Hello, Crafty Peeps!

I originally created this project for the "Lets Get Messy" challenge at Shopping Our Stash.  But I accidentally posted in on FB yesterday so now I have to create another project for next week! Getting messy means using glitter, pigment ink, acrylic paint, you know, the kind of things that require getting your hands sticky, or messy!  I plan to break out my Geli Plate at some point!
Shaker cards are generally "messy" makes for me!  I use tons of glue and in this case a mix of Distress Inks on the outside and in my windows!  I used stickles and glitter, and glue to embellish cloud windows.  I had so much fun unsticking myself from my panels.
I added a few sequins to the card face!  I smeared glue on my balloon and then sprinkled on some glitter.  I don't like glitter so much because it gets everywhere!  I used a mixture of stickles and glitter to create a rainbow background in my cloud windows!
I am so glad that I started using craft foam instead of double-sided foam tape on my window projects!  It has made the creation of the projects easier and more efficient.

Thanks for visiting!

A Place To Start - November Challenge - Color Challenge - Caffeinated Tones

Hello, Crafty Peeps!
Color Challenge
"Caffeinated Tones"
You may add neutrals or other spot colors!
Keeping faith with my 2019 self-challenge, I created my first Tent Card.  I love it!
This style card is quite easy to construct and is a great way to use up paper scraps.  I will say that using a heavyweight acetate will make a sturdier card, particularly if you use heavy card stock.
My stamp and die set included a die for the belly band of the cup. The Java Nice Day Sentiment was a perfect fit!
I am always happy when I can mix and match stamp/die sets and still get a cohesive design.
As you can see, my acetate front is slightly bowed.  Next time, I will use heavier acetate sheets.

Creating the background for the card is a great way to reduce your stash!  I also learned a new crafting tip.  I have a lot of scrap sticker paper and I used it as backing for my background scrap strips, image, and die-cut. I cut a piece of sticker paper slightly larger than my card base.  I removed the release paper, adhered my scrap paper strips, and then trimmed the background panel down to the correct size.

My Love Affair with Kraft Paper Continues: A "Krafty Keepsake Box"

Hello, Crafty Makers!
Just a quick share today of a project that caught my eye due to its simplicity and because it is constructed with Kraft cardstock!

My "Krafty Keepsake Box"
The original design of the box was from "Mixed Up Craft."  She used adhesive wood veneer sheets to give her box the wooden effect but I decided not to do that.  This was a "stash reduction" project and I did not want to buy anything.
I particularly like the hinged top.  I had planned to give this box as a gift but I had a few "oops" moments and decided I would keep it for my personal use.  The velvet paper used to line the bottom has been in my stash for about six years.  I was amazed at how perfectly it matched my CS.
Isn't this just a terrific die cut?  The die is made by Xcut and is called "Floral Panel."  The tropical foliage themed paper worked quite well.
My little project found a home in the sitting area of my master bedroom.  A few of my other projects have found a home on my dressing table.

This is a basic box project, but if you want to follow the original tutorial, click HERE

Thanks, for stopping by!
