What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #599

 Hello, Crafty Peeps!

I decided to participate in the WOYW Wednesday challenge.  Unfortunately, the Amazon cloud was out of commission for most of Wednesday and I was not able to upload my pictures until now.  I hope I can still make the challenge.  I will take pictures of my projects later today.  It is 2AM and I am headed to bed!

Generally, my work table is pretty neat and clean.  But I am trying to complete my SIL's Christmas Card order, make her planner for 2021, and serve as a volunteer leader for the upcoming senatorial runoff election here in Georgia.

I am crafting, calling, and drinking more coffee than I should.  There was no way I could fit cleaning my studio into that mix! 😄  All of my work areas were covered with supplies.

The Hubster made a woodblock for use on my stamp platform (to apply even pressure.)  About two months ago, he came home with a huge box full of craft supplies that he purchased at the Dollar Tree.  Included in the stash was some craft foam. I decided that I would cover my woodblock with craft foam.  I painted the ends with some of the paint that The Hubster purchased and added some glitter.  I added Washi Tape to hide the edges!   Now, I have a fun tool!

Right now, my workspace is its pristine self!   Since today is Thanksgiving, the studio will remain clean until around 5pm and then I will be back in here messing it up all over again.  I do have three lovely cards to show that the mess was worth it!

Hugz,
Chana Malkah

  6. Hi Chana. Wowee - lots to look at all round your room this week. Welcome to WOYWW - I haven't seen you here before - apologies if you have indeed visited - my compouter threatened me with its terminal illness for three weeks, until I called in a friend to take it apart and put it together again. I trust you are having a lovely thanksgiving celebration today.
    Take care. God bless.

  9. Nice to see you! Your desk looks busy. Whatever would we do without clever hubbies? Mine is more useful with computer issues but he can sometimes surprise me. Glad you found time to craft but your work on the Senate race is perhaps more globally important. If you read back on my blog you might like the stencil I made of Stacey Abrams :)

I may live in the U.K. (25 years) but I’m from Virginia.

    1. I love your stencil of Stacie! She is definitely one of my Sheroes! She is keeping us all quite busy!

I am very lucky in the hubby department. He is an engineer by profession, an amateur chef, computer nerd, and master carpenter. I haven't cooked in twenty five years! :D)

I am excited about the race. I hope we can pull it off and then get rid of Kemp in 2022!

  11. Hey there Chana, welcome to WOYWW! I’m didn’t see you on the list until very late but hope that you’ve had fun having a snoop around the desks. You are one busy lady with the card/planner orders etc. Being a volunteer in the Senatorial elections sounds interesting, what does that involve?
Great bit of stash buying and help from your husband, I bet you enjoy using that updated woodblock all the time now, lol! My hubby is a good ‘un too and had helped me with all sorts over the years :-)

    1. Thanks, LLJ! Mostly it means hosting Zoom events (phone banking) and training other volunteers. I suffer from a autoimmune disease, so I cannot work the in person events so I do a lot of calling, training and data entry. Whatever the Party needs.

The Hubster surprised me with the supplies. The Dollar Tree upgraded their craft department and he bought a little of everything they had on the shelves. Then he took me there to pick up anything he might have missed!

I think most hubbies just want their wives to be happy!

  12. Hi Chana and a very warm welcome to WOYWW, the longest blog hop on the web! So nice to have you on board, and great that you've got a studio almost as messy as mine. You have obviously got a great hubby who supports what you do, as does mine. Thank you for visiting and leaving such a nice comment - glad you are enjoying my blog.

  13. Your hubs is certainly a keeper for bringing you craft supplies! I don't blame you for having a messy desk - you've been so busy - and you're right, tidying is at the bottom of my priorities as well, although I did manage a little yesterday. Thanks so much for your visit, Chana - let us see all your wonderful creations next week! zsuzsa #29

  16. Hello Chana. Thanks for popping by. Helping with Senatorial Election sounds very interesting!
I need one of those blocks - read about someone else saying how much easier it was. Need to get my DH to sort it out, he is supportive of my crafting plus inventive. Hope you enjoyed Thanksgiving. Anne x 14

  17. Hi Chana. Well, seeing this definitely makes me feel better, I am not alone! Great idea for the woodblock. I've got something similar and I also use a small wooden rolling pin instead of a brayer when I'm using it to smooth out bubbles and such. Us arthritic gals have to improvise! lol Hope you had a happy turkey day. XOX

  19. So sorry to be late to welcome you to WOYWW Chana! You are one busy woman! I love that your many surfaces reflect how busy you are, and that it’s all to give away, how lovely of you! You certainly have a lovely space in which to craft, and how nice for me to rummage through and spot loads of stuff that I have too, I feel very at home! I hope your Thanksgiving was a restful day, especially as you seem to have made time to tidy up. Amazing!

  20. Welcome to the WOYWW club. I hope you join us again and maybe even partake in the Zoom session next week.
You certainly look very busy and I imagine you have a fair sized craftroom so there must be lots of surfaces to clutter up as we do. Good luck with all that you have planned, my word, you sound mega busy.

  21. Hi Chana, so pleased to see you on here - your desk looks wonderfully busy and interesting. That's a good idea about the wood block, I think I need one - will have to get my hubs on it as he hasn't thrown away a piece of wood for the last thirty years so he's bound to have something suitable! What a wonderful man you have to bring home craft goodies for you, hope you enjoy playing with your new stash.
Have a great rest of the week and sorry I'm so late visiting, just had a really mixed up week!
