Eclectic Ellapu - A Man Card!

Hi, Crafty Peeps!

This week at Eclectic Ellapu, we are challenging you to create a card for that special man (or men) in your life!  The design team has come up with some truly fabulous projects and I am sure you will find some ideas there to inspire you.  My card is for my son who is a Systems Engineer.  This is how he looks to my DIL most of the time!  He also looks like this to me whenever he visits!  :D)

Black and White and "Read" All Over

I just love the theme of our challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu this week.  We were challenged to create a project using only black and white and "Text".  I thought this was a very creative challenge, the type that forces you to think differently about what you are designing.  Okay, I admit my project is pretty expected and not at all out of the box, but I am convinced that some of you will come up with some pretty amazing designs.  Anyway, I hope you will join in the challenge.

The small book was supposed to have open pages, but I got a little "glue happy" and accidentally glued the entire book shut.  Oh well,  :D)
I know my pages don't look white, but that is because a put TH Old Paper Distress Ink  on some of them.   And the other was the only newsprint pp in my stash so I used it!

A Different Point of View - Eclectic Ellapu

Electic Ellapu - Recipe Challenge: 1 Die Cut, 2 Patterned Papers, Ribbon

My teammates over at Electic Ellapu have created some truly wonderful projects using Laurian's recipe for this challenge.   Stop by and enter a project in the challenge.  Any project qualifies, so if you have a 3D project or Mixed Media, or scrap page, we would love to see it.

This is my first side step card and I had a great deal of fun pulling it together.  I wanted to use the sentiment, but was unsure of an image to use.  I finally decided that a side step card would allow me to use several images from  Technique Tuesday's All Aboard  Stamp Set.

I think 2013 is my year of  "a new way of seeing things."  It may just be that I am getting older and that age alters our spiritual eyesight, or it may be that my experiences in the three years preceding this one have stripped the facade from some once admired people and beliefs.  The beauty of it is, all that has happened has sharpened my view of G-d and concretized for me the fact that he and he alone stands constant as a present help.

Thanks for stopping by!  As always, I invite you to join me at my two new challenge blogs:

My project is being entered into the following Challenges:

Vintage Love - Eclectic Ellapu - Cream and Pink Challenge

Hello, Cardies!  We have a wonderful challenge for you today over at Eclectic Ellapu!  Our hostess this week is Berni and she has asked us to create designs using Cream and Pink.  My teammates have crafted some truly fabulous projects.   I know you will be inspired!   As you can see, I have become addicted to mini albums.  They are so much fun and so easy to do.  You will probably see a few more of these!  I tried to keep the inside true to the Cream and Pink theme.

Envelope Mini Album
The envelopes used are regular #10 Business Envelopes that have bee cut down to  7.0" and scored at 2.5 "

I try to keep my embellishments to a minimum so that the is room for the recipient to add pictures and journal entries!

I found this cute little post it notepad at the Dollar Tree!  The tag pocket on the right was made using a scrap .

Adding the chipboard covers to the mini allowed me to make it more elegant.  I couldn't find my wire combs when I was working on this project.  Now that I have found them, I plan to switch out the back spine for a wire one.

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!
