All Geared Up - Shopping Our Stash

Hello, Crafty Peeps!
This week, at Shopping Our Stash,  the challenge is to use Two Types of Embossing!  My initial thought was to emboss strips and do a basket weave, but I was short on time and had to come up with something that could be easily and quickly done!

I decided to do Dry Embossing and a Wet Embossing.
The Gold Gears were cut from Kraft paper and then embossed with Gold Embossing Powder

The burlap and card stock used to make the banners, were  leftovers from a previous project  I had paper clipped them the to black card stock scrap..  I When I grabbed the black card stock to use as a layer, I noticed how well they worked together and decided to make banners. The printed burlap is probably the elevating element.

I never do well with Man Cards, but this turned out pretty nice and I wasn't really thinking of a man card when I was working on it.  This project really put itself together because all these pieces were lying on my very untidy drafting table!

National Get Out Of The Doghouse Day!!!

IMAGE "PUPPY LOVE"  BY ROBERT JACKSON
"A Little Pup called Diggy!"
G;morning, Cardies!  This week, over at The Outlawz, The Creetings Challenge Team is celebrating National Get Out Of The Doghouse Day and The Dog Days of Summer!!  I decided to use this adorable little pooch by digi artist, Robert Jackson.  Aren't those eyes just adorable.  Coloring up the image took not time at all, deciding which dps to use took forever.  I have a ton of doggy print paper, but that was too obvious, and, I wanted to keep the dps neutral in case I wanted to give this card to a male co-worker or friend!  You should check out all the wonderful creations from my teammates.  I know we are going are going to get some really awesome cards in the challenge this week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Thank God For The Journey - Stamp-N-Doodle - Tag It

IMAGE "Quiet Moments"  by  LYNN CROSSKILL - STAMP-N-DOODLE

Good Morning, Cardies!

The Challenge Theme this week at Stamp-N-Doodle is "Tag It."  This is my third "tag" challenge in as many weeks, and I am finding that I actually like  the idea of adding tags to my cards.  I love this image because it reminds me that we should always just take a moment and have a little "quiet time".  Whether spent in prayer, reflection or just sleeping, it is important for all of us to just slow down and enjoy the Journey.  My daughter just celebrated her 39th birthday.  Funny, just yesterday, I remember, I was only sixteen.

You have until 11:59pm Tuesday, June 19th to enter your project.
It is not necessary to use a Stamp-N-Doodle Image, but we would sure love it if you did..
Please, no back linking.  New creations only!

Hope to see you there!  Thanks for taking a peek!
Hugz,
Chana

COWBOYS - Stamp-N-Doodle Challenge

Image "Cowboys On The Rail" by Lynn Crosskill
I love Cowboys!  Some of you may remember the digi that I use about a month ago called "Lonesome Cowpoke," well, this is another of Lynn Crosskill's Cowboy Digis and I just love it!  There is just something "romantic" about the idea of a rough and tough, yet gentle spirited man that is the perception of the American Cowboy!
Over at Stamp-N-Doodle this week, we have a Sketchy Color Challenge.  You must use the sketch and include the color "Peach" in your design.  I don't normally associate the color peach with cowboys, but I though I could put one of them in a rust colored shirt and use a peach colored dp to stay true to the challenge.
All of the papers used on this card are from My Secret Stash.  MSS is not a company it is stuff that I asked people for or, stuff that has been given to me by family and friends and strangers with the words, "I thought you might be able to do something with this on one of your cards."

Here's the sketch

Thanks for dropping by!

JUST PAPER - A MASCULINE CARD

If I had to pick a card design type that drives me crazy (after CAS, which will always be #1 in my book) I would have to say masculine cards.  This week at The Outlawz, the Monday Greetings Challenge was to create a Masculine Card.  This was my DT Card.  Sometimes, I just like to make cards with nothing but paper and this was one of those times.  As I was preparing for this challenge, I remembered that about six months ago I had purchased a scrapbook "scrap pak" at big lots for $5.00.  There were 24 sheets of dp, cutouts, stickers, tags, the whole nine.  It only took twenty minutes to totally destroy my studio, but I finally remembered where I put the pak.  The most difficult part of the card was building up the top frame and lining up the recessed square so that all the words lined up.  It is a really cool looking card in real life!  You still have time to enter the challenge since it does not close until Midnight on Sunday!  Good Luck!!

Supplies:  Neenah Solar White CS, Colorplan Chocolate CS; Paper Crush - Scrap Pak, scor-tape; brand and mounting foam!
