2020 Stash Party #40 - A Friend Who Has Chocolate

Hello, Crafty Peeps!
This is the third card in a series of cards I am creating using Inkadinkdoo's Kid Quotes Collection "Friendly Wisdom."
CHOCOLATE!
I accidentally blended away her "peace" sign. If you look hard enough, you might just be able to make them out! I rarely repeat cards. I like this one and want to send it to a couple of people.  I think I will use the sentiment with different images and backgrounds. The pearl embossing powder I used on the silhouette photographed much darker than it appears in real life.  Still, I am pleased with the effort.

Thanks, so much for stopping by!
Hugz,
Stuff I Used:
Andy Skinner Mixed Media Stencil: Hippy Chic
The Crafter's Workshop Stencils:  Mini Viva La Art, Mini Cubist, Mini Coptic Impressions
Tim Holtz Layering Stencil: Crackle

Distress Inks and Distress Oxides:
Speckled Egg (DI, O)
Worn Lipstick (O)
Vintage Photo (O)
Walnut Stain (O)
Tumbled Glass (DI)

I created my background panel by first blending together Speckled Egg Distress Ink and Speckled Egg Distress Oxide over the entire surface of the panel.  I started with one color at the top and the other at the bottom.  I blended them in toward the center making sure to leave some areas lighter than others.

I stenciled in the four background stencils using Tumbled Glass, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks.

The Hippi Chic image was embossed using WOW Pearl White EP.

STASH PARTY #8 - Especially For You!

Hello, Crafty Makers!
This fun little card is another product of my stash bash!  I was looking through my stencil drawer and, low and behold, I found unopened packages of Heidi Swapp Stencils. Back some years ago, an online store was going out of business and they were selling everything for a fraction of the regular price.  I must have purchased about 10-15 Heidi Swapp Stencils, some of which included three pieces, a background stencil, a decorative stencil, and a mask for the decorative stencil.
I think it turned out great!  I used Ranger Distress Inks and an Inkadinkadoo Washable ink.  Added stickles to my little bird and I was done.   I also opened a ribbon set that has been in my ribbon drawer for almost three years.  This stash bash has been fun. Now I am off to make flowers!

Thanks For Stopping By!

Shopping Our Stash Weekly Challenge: Silhouettes

Hello, Crafty Makers!
This week's SOS Challenge is Silhouettes.
You may use stamped or die cut images.
It just so happens that my assignment this week for my graphic design class is to find an example of a contemporary product that borrows a 19th-century concept in its design or advertising.  My mind was still in that loop when I started this project so my silhouette design has a very 19th Century swag!

This originally going to be the front of my card!

For The Boys - Shopping Our Stash

Hello, Crafty Peeples!
This week, thanks to Shopping Our Stash, I got a chance to use some paper from one of my 500 6x6 pads!  I see these pads and I think, "Oh, boy, I just love that collection of papers.  I know what I will do with it!"  Of course, not 1/50th of those big ideas ever saw the light.  So I found some Map Paper by 7 Gypsies (didn't even know I had it.  Come to find out I have two...never opened).

I decided to stick with the "boring", "predictable" colors traditionally used for male cards.  Since the Map paper is really the star, I wanted to keep embellishments to a minimum and highlighting colors either neutral or very muted.
The word band reads, "The Journey Awakens The Soul".

I played around with the composition for a while, but decided that a recessed box card would make the best presentation for this minimalistic design!
I decided to leave the inside blank.  This is part of a collection of cards that I am giving to my SIL.  She sends them out to family and friends.  I didn't want to limit how she could use this one!

THE BACK STORY!

Stash Items:  Map Paper (7 gypsies' Global 6x6 Pad);  Patterned Paper ( Studio Calico's Classic Calico Pad);  Die Cuts:  Umbrella Man and Postage Stamp Frame - both by Tim Holtz Alterations for Sizzix. Ribbon Stampin' Up; Word Band Tim Holtz Idea-ology.   All items in this project are 6 months - 1year old.  The Umbrella Man Die I have had for three months but never used, the Postage Die I have had for 6 months and only used once.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will use this challenge to decrease your stash...a little!  Please stop by Shopping Our Stash to see what my Teammates have created with their "old, long forgotten stuff!"

Grabbing Air!!!

Hello, Cardies!  Over at Stamp-N-Doodle, our challenge this week is to create a card using wet or dry embossing.  I chose dry and then almost covered it up trying to develop the skateboarding theme for my project.  Anymahoo, I had fun with this one.  We would love to see your projects, so if you just happen to have an embossed card, drop by and add it to our collection or make one just for us!

National Get Out Of The Doghouse Day!!!

IMAGE "PUPPY LOVE"  BY ROBERT JACKSON
"A Little Pup called Diggy!"
G;morning, Cardies!  This week, over at The Outlawz, The Creetings Challenge Team is celebrating National Get Out Of The Doghouse Day and The Dog Days of Summer!!  I decided to use this adorable little pooch by digi artist, Robert Jackson.  Aren't those eyes just adorable.  Coloring up the image took not time at all, deciding which dps to use took forever.  I have a ton of doggy print paper, but that was too obvious, and, I wanted to keep the dps neutral in case I wanted to give this card to a male co-worker or friend!  You should check out all the wonderful creations from my teammates.  I know we are going are going to get some really awesome cards in the challenge this week!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugz,
Chana!

I plan to submit this card to the following challenges
